What is the story of Tokyo Revengers?

Takemichi is having a rough time in his present life – he’s constantly pushed around, can’t seem to get his job right, and even gets yelled at by his landlord.

One day, he hears that his middle school ex-girlfriend has been killed by a gang.

As if things couldn’t get any worse, Takemichi is pushed onto train tracks by a stranger just as a train is approaching.

Right before he is killed, he is suddenly transported 12 years into the past, where he is back in middle school and part of a group of wannabe delinquents.

When they go to confront some older students at another school, they are instead beaten up by a group of even older students.

Takemichi realizes that his girlfriend, Hinata, is still alive and decides to change the past in order to prevent her death. He ends up saving the life of a young boy named Naoto, who turns out to be Hinata’s brother.

Takemichi warns Naoto about the day that he and his sister will die and asks for his help to save her. When Takemichi returns to the present, he finds out that Naoto has become a police officer and saved his life on the train tracks.

Together, they try to change the past to prevent Hinata’s death, but their actions lead to new problems with the Tokyo Manji Gang and their rival gang Valhalla, as well as the main antagonist Kisaki Tetta. The story ends on a cliffhanger, leaving fans wanting more.
